Clan Starr attended a family wedding this past weekend.

I would like to know just WHY I feel totally hungover, even though I had a total of ONE half glass of wine and ONE Screwdriver throughout the entire evening. On top of that, I continuously drank glass after glass of water. And finally, I got about seven hours of sleep.

Instead of feeling reasonably normal (whatever that is), I feel like I’ve been run over by a Mack Truck. It’s just not fair. Maybe it’s just a function of getting frickin’ old. *sigh*

Whatever it is, I am going to bed at 8:00 in the evening because I just can’t stay upright any longer.

Some of you may recall that I was given edits on Party Starter a few weeks ago. There was a bit of work involved. Many minor changes, but some spots where more depth or emotion was required.

And I went through those edits whilst hacking and coughing all over my laptop. Yeah. It weren’t pretty, yo.

I was certain I’d done a terrible job and would end up having to wade through a second set of edits from my dear editor. But — huzzah, huzzah! — I received a complimentary email indicating that the edits were well done, and that the book would be heading up the production road. And that a release date was forthcoming! Woo!

Lemme tell ya, that was a huge relief. I feel like I’m running around like the proverbial headless chicken again. Real-world work, more minor home renovations and those nasty, nasty fall germs are wreaking havoc on my life. Yeesh. Well, one of these days things will settle down and life will be better.

Won’t it?

In the meantime, I’ll keep you posted on the status of Party Starter (and hopefully receive a cover soon that I can show you!).

Stay you, you’re great!

Jeebus H. Roosevelt Christiconicus.

I am a horrible, horrible parent today. As much as I am very much against using the Boob Toob as a babysitter for Ms. Junior Peanut, that’s exactly what is happening at this very moment. Once I’ve written this blog post, I have to dive into some freelance work that’s rapidly approaching its deadline.

Hence the use of Netflix and the ridiculous antics of Steve and Blue.

Now the important part is attempting to ignore the noise of the TV and focus on the Word document.

In the meantime, however, hello to all visitors! Please excuse the cobwebs around here — I think I’m gonna have to fire the maid. :/ I hope you’ll continue to come back and check out what’s happening at Chez Starr.

For now, however, I must cut this short and get to werk.

Cheers, and catch you on the flip side!
