Wow.

It’s been the craziest, busiest Christmas season we’ve had in a long time. I can’t believe we’re finally staring at the end of ‘08.

I hope you all had a good holiday. Looking back, how was ‘08 for you? I can say it was a pretty good year. Productivity-wise, not the greatest, but that’s going to be one of my priorities for ‘09. (Along with wedding-planning and house-hunting. Oy!)

So let’s just say I’m going to do the best I can through the first 6 months of the year… after that, I hope things will settle into some sort of routine where I can definitely crank up production. Y’know?

I’d really like ‘09 to be much more successful in terms of books — and that’s my goal. With a new house, there won’t be much happening in terms of big travel plans, and that’s okay. I hope to be spending time at home, hosting fun barbecues and Wii parties.

Yes, yes. Along with work.

So. Clan Starr is gearing up to run some errands, and head to our party location for the night. I hope everyone has a fun, safe evening, and I’ll see you next year!

It’s that time of year… though I haven’t seen this on TV yet. (Truthfully, I haven’t looked too hard, but I’m sure it’s airing at some point. Maybe we’ve missed it. )

In reviewing my blog hit stats, I discovered someone found me by searching for “Kris Starr” + “died”.

Huh.

As far as I know, I’m still here. I may be feeling under the weather — thanks tons for that, Boy Einstein! — but I’m still alive and breathing.

The Christmas rush is coming to a close, isn’t it? Well, at least it is for us. I’ve bought everything I’ve been able to buy this year, and all that’s left is wrapping. I’ve got a couple of delinquent cards and a parcel to get out, too, but I’m not stressing about it. (Sorry ’bout that, recipients!) Right now, sleep is much more important than anything else.

I’ll try to be back before the big day, but I hope you all take the time to hug your loved ones and enjoy the togetherness of the season.

Unbelievable how time has flown, but today was my last day of work until January 5th.

Yes, I rawk.

Hehehe.

This does not mean that I shall be lazing about eating bonbons while grecian gods wave ostrich-feather fans, no! In fact, I shall be up to my bleedin’ eyeballs in a massive monster Christmas To-Do list that will no likely do nothing more than send me straight to the spiked eggnog.

And I don’t even *do* spiked eggnog.

That’s sayin’ somethin’.

Oh, well. In the meantime, I shall take a moment now and again to dance on my tippytoes with excitement for the season.

Not to worry, I shall be baaaaack. Just like Aaaaah-nold.

Sue me. I’m feeling a tad nostalgic. However, my inner 80s kid is ashamed to admit I still don’t know who all the artists are who contributed to Band Aid.

Not George, though. Oh, how the years have treated you…

Compared to last winter, this year is crazy. We’ve already had several feet of snow dumped on us, temperatures that have plummeted way beyond where they should rightfully be, and then today we got rained on, of all things.

And now, of course, that it’s rained, the temperature has dropped once again, creating the perfect conditions for a city-wide skating rink.

(Actually, it’s not that bad. The roads were fine earlier. But who’s to say what’ll happen overnight…?)

The part that gets me is the bitter cold. It was -19C the other day, folks. That’s -2F. With the windchill, it was -29. THAT’S MINUS 20 FAHRENHEIT. Not fit for human consumption in the least.

And the craziest part is, this is weather that typically comes in January, or the beginning of February. This isn’t December weather. Which makes me wonder just what the new year will be like…?!?

I know. Too many weather-related posts lately, huh? Well, if I don’t talk about the weather, I’ll just end up ranting about how I’m going insane with Christmas planning, wedding planning, and watching my revisions sit there, not getting done. *sigh* You know, the usuals. On the plus side, this coming Thursday is my last day in the office, and then I’m on vacation! W00T! I wonder if it’s too optimistic of me to think I’ll get any writing done over the holidays…?

Yeah, I’ll bet she would…

You know, words actually fail me right now. And that’s not a good thing for a writer…

I can’t seem to get to bed before 11PM anymore. (Actually, it’s usually closer to midnight…)

The internet beckons; curse Google for allowing me to search for dress ideas and flowers and centerpieces…

If I don’t get some sleep one of these nights, I’m going to do a nose-dive into my lunch at work. It’s inevitable.

However, in all of this searching, I have rediscovered my love for eBay. Especially since I’m finding several inexpensive options for all three young ladies who are going to be featured prominently in the upcoming spectacle.

I figure that makes up for my inability to focus. Doesn’t it…? Huh…? Wha–…?
