irrelevant (and sometimes questionable) ramblings

Yesterday the weather was simply gorgeous. We hit almost 30C (over 82F) with sunny skies and a cool breeze. Absolutely fabulous.

Now today–the day Boy Einstein and I are hosting our “Welcome Summer” BBQ–it’s POURING out. And not showing any signs of stopping.

Oh, well. It’ll be indoor fun, instead. And it’s all right–I made a trip to the liquor store yesterday, so frankly, I don’t think anyone is going to care about the rain. (The DDs might, though, but that’s perfectly all right!)

At least the rain has allowed me to take a few chores off my To-Do list–I don’t have to wash the patio furniture now. And we certainly can’t put the roof and mosquito netting on the gazebo. So that’s okay.

I’m not any less busy, though–and speaking of busy, I’d better get cracking on some prep work and inside cleaning.

Last night, the Offspring lost her third tooth within, what, two months or so? She now has a rather large ‘L’-shaped gap in the front of her mouth, complete with a brand-new, very cute lisp.

In a moment of sheer panic, however, the Tooth Fairy realized she’d forgotten to visit, and thankfully was able to slip the moolah under the pillow before being found out.

*Whew*

She’s got a tough job, that Tooth Fairy.

In other news, summer appears to have passed us by up here in Northern Canuckland. It’s been rainy and grey, and still cool enough to warrant a light jacket (but I won’t put socks and shoes back on — no way, dudes. I’d rather turn the car heater on in the morning, instead… ). I’m beginning to doubt that the heat and sun will ever arrive…

No, I can’t think that because it’s entirely too depressing of a thought…

Anyway. New writing projects are on the horizon, and that’s what matters. Stay tuned, folks!

My good buddy Laura was wondering if I was going to be stirring up any trouble anytime soon, and I thought I’d mention one teensy thing –

Well, okay. I’m here. And now that things are *almost* back to normal in StarrWorld, I will attempt to get the party started back here once again.

So. What’s new, gang? Anything interesting to report? Lemme know! I’ve been living under a rock lately, it seems…

Howdy, gang! Yes, I’ve been remiss, but a four-day headache, infected right-hand thumb (WTF?!? And can I tell you how hard this makes typing??), and upcoming family wedding #2 have made the last while just the teensiest bit…oh, shall we say…insane?

Trust me, folks. I’ve been running like the proverbial headless chicken once again. I haven’t even made it in to see the Hot Stuff P.T. in ages. My bike has been tuned up and raring to go (thanks to Rella’s hubs) for ages, and I haven’t even tried it out yet, either. Yeesh.

And we’re not even going to talk about writing. So don’t go there.

I need a vacation from life. Anyone? Bueller??

On the plus side, after this weekend, things should quiet down a bit. I hope. (Let’s not tempt ol’ Murphy, though, I suppose…)

So anyway. I promise I’ll be around when I can. And wet, sloppy smooches to those of you who keep coming around, regardless. Lubs ya!
