irrelevant (and sometimes questionable) ramblings

I know I’ve been in and out quite a bit lately, but it’s gotten awfully quiet in here.

What’s everybody up to?

If you’ll notice, I’ve added to yon word count meter over on the side there. (Yay!) Let’s just say the end is a bit closer in sight now. (Why did I do something silly like leave the big secks scene to write last?? Yeesh…)

Tomorrow night’s kinda shot because there’s a work party in the evening. And then Thursday night it’s an early birthday celebration (Whee!).

Not to mention, of course, on Thursday I shall also be picking up my brand spankin’ new ve-hickle! Yee-haw! (I know, I know. Finally!)

So hopefully by sometime this weekend this sucker will be finito.

Jeebus. It had better well be, or I might be driven to run down the street, screaming and poking out my eyeballs with dull pencils.

Keep your fingers crossed that *that* doesn’t happen, ok?

Still no car.

Delivery is now purportedly Tuesday.

I will believe this when I have the key in the ignition and am driving away from the dealership.

The hawt sales guy owes me for this delay. I mean it.

Saturday night I continue work on Lovely. The end is in sight. But for now, I go to bed to read.

Following instructions discovered over at Doug’s place, I am attempting to once again embed a YouTube video.

Besides…all the world needs is Weird Al and Donny Osmond collaborating… (If you don’t laugh at Osmond’s antics, then there’s definitely something wrong wit choo.)

So. Here’s the scoop:

I have made my selection, signed my John Hancock on the dotted line, and paid some of my hard-earned moolah.

But I still have no car.

Problem is, my choice is so popular, they apparently can’t keep ‘em on the lot. The day I called to make an appointment to come in and sign the papers, the one the dealership had on the lot was sold. Then the other one they were going to bring in as a dealer trade from another dealership nearby was sold. So now there’s a hunt on for another one.

Which means that instead of picking my car up tomorrow as planned, it now may be Monday.

*sigh*

Nothing like making things complicated, huh?

That’s okay, though. They owe me a car. Everything’s already arranged, so they just need to find one and get it to me. That’s all I ask for. That’s not too much, is it?

ps. No, I’m not telling you what it is. You get to wait until I can have a picture taken with it so I can post it on the blog. Then you’ll get the 411. Needless to say, I’m excited. I really, really like it so far. (Of course, talk to me after a few weeks to see if I’ve changed my mind… )

Oh, wait. I can’t do that. Bugger.

The honest truth — Lovely is not finished.

The word count is continuing to rise, albeit at my lightning-slow pace, but we haven’t quite gotten to “The End” yet.

There is good news, though — tonight I figured out a way to tie up a thread, so that was very helpful.

Unless something extremely dramatic happens, I think it is fairly safe to say that those two magic words will be posted on this blog in the next few days. So stay tuned.

Also, it seems car shopping on the weekend was pretty successful! I don’t have new wheels in my possession quite yet, but you’ll be certain to read about it here when it does happen! (Believe me, I will be SO glad when the paperwork’s all done and the automotive stress can be gone! Then I can move on to income taxes. Whee! )

Anyway. I’ve contributed to the story tonight, and now it’s time for bed. That’s all I’ve got to say, folks. Catch you on the flip side!

Not mere moments ago, I brought in the season’s first batch of line-dried laundry.

I know, call me crazy, but it’s the nicest feeling and one of the best scents in the world.

And if nothing else, it’s a definite sign of spring! (It also helps that it’s +23 C [73F!!] out there right now! Woot!)

Yeah, I know. Essentially half of Wednesday night’s count. But I wasn’t feeling so great last night, which was distracting. So when you take that into effect, I actually did okay.

Today and tomorrow are going to be interesting, though.

Writing plus a gazillion other things to worry about/deal with/plan… Yeesh. I wonder how many things would be on my To-Do list if I were to write them all down…?

The thought’s too frightening to contemplate.

Anybody seen my muse lately, though…? I could use the little snot’s help.

Okay…so not fantastic, but not horrible, either.

I had a couple of good…ahem…spurts of creativity in there, which helped. I have one 500-word scene to finish, plus a good chunk of one chapter to complete, and then I’m pretty much done!
